Starting with the idea, as proposed by some scientists, that Time is a dimension in which we can travel:
1. If Time is a dimension in which we can travel, then it would be possible to see the Future.
2. If it is possible to see the Future, then it is possible to change it, so we cannot see “The Future” but a possible future.
3. If we change the Future then:
3.1. Either we define the Universe with our actions and so it would be impossible to travel towards the future without changing it (which means we’re all time-travellers already: welcome to the future!) and travelling towards the past would make us an improbability (which is a paradox too complex for me to understand, but it seems to me to make it impossible to travel in that direction);
3.2. Or a new Time-Universe (a new timeline from the change point) is created, which I think we can discard if we take into account the infinite matter and energy necessary;
3.3. Or we travel into an already existing Time-Universe.
4. Taking into account that it would be impossible to anticipate which Time-Universes would have to exist, then all the possible Time-Universes would have to appear at the beginning of time.
5. If so, then it would be possible to travel transversally to Time, between Time-Universes, in a dimension defined by possibility.
Perhaps that’s what happens when we find the house keys in a place different than the one we were sure we’d left them or when someone we know so well behaves in a bizarre way…
Tomando como ponto de partida a ideia, proposta por alguns cientistas, de que o Tempo é uma dimensão navegável:
1. Se o Tempo é uma dimensão em que seria possível navegar, então é possível ver o Futuro.
2. Se é possível ver o Futuro, então é possível alterá-lo, assim, não podemos ver “O Futuro” mas um Futuro possível.
3. Se alterarmos o nosso Futuro, então:
3.1. Ou definimos o Universo com as nossas acções e, assim, seria impossível viajar para o futuro sem alterá-lo (o que quer dizer que já somos todos viajantes do tempo: bem-vindos ao futuro!) e viajar para o passado tornar-nos-ia numa improbabilidade (o que é um paradoxo muito complicado para eu o compreender, mas parece-me impossibilitar qualquer viagem nesse sentido);
3.2. Ou é criado um novo Universo-Tempo (uma nova linha de tempo no ponto da alteração), o que me parece que podemos descartar tendo em conta os gastos infinitos de energia e matéria;
3.3. Ou passamos para um Universo-Tempo que já existe.
4. Tendo em conta que não seria possível antecipar quais os Universos-Tempo que teriam de existir, então todos os Universos-Tempo possíveis teriam de surgir no início do tempo.
5. Sendo assim, seria possível navegar transversalmente ao tempo, entre Universos-Tempo, numa dimensão definida pela possibilidade.
Talvez seja isso que acontece quando as chaves de casa aparecem num sítio e temos a certeza de as ter guardado noutro ou quando alguém que conhecemos tão bem se comporta de forma tão bizarra...
